Thailand is blessed with miles of stunning coastline and hundreds of offshore islands. They are located between Bangkok and the border with Cambodia and in the southern parts of Thailand. Close to Bangkok is Koh Samet and in the south you’ll find Koh Samui and Koh Phangan. The last one is famous and notorious for the monthly full moon party. Although technically not an island Phuket is also considered as one of the islands. Koh Tao is a real scuba divers paradise.
There are several guide books focussing entirely on the islands and beaches of Thailand. Besides the ones on this website also the smaller end less popular destinations. Because these books are focusing on the islands and coastal cities they can also give you more in depth information and a longer list with hotels and restaurants than in the normal guide books covering the whole of Thailand. Several titles are:
The Lonely Planet, Thailand’s islands and beaches
The Rough Guide to Thailand’s Beaches & Islands
DK Eyewitness Travel Guide: Thailand’s Beaches and Islands
