Koh Si Chang

One of the smaller islands on the coast between Bangkok and the border with Cambodia. Not blessed with beautiful white sandy beaches but there are some nice fishing villages, small temples, a lively port area and some spots for snorkelling. All together it is a nice weekend escape from the busy city life in Bangkok or a nice day trip from Pattaya. There are no bars or nightlife. Around the island are some smaller islands. It is only 2 hours away from Bangkok. The island is also in close distance to Pattaya. To reach the island you have to catch a ferry at the Koh Loi Pier in Si Racha city. In Bangkok there are several bus stations with buses or minivans to Si Racha; Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekamai), Mochit Terminal and the bus terminal at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Some buses towards Pattaya will have a stop at Si Racha.
