Besides temples and islands Thailand has also many other destinations. Especially in the north are nice places like Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Pai. Also around Bangkok are many places where you can go for a short weekend escape. Hua Hin and Pattaya are great for beaches while Phetchaburi and Kanchanaburi are great for cultural experiences and to learn more about the country.
In the south (west of Phuket) you find the coastal province of Krabi. Here you can make a boat trip on a classic Thai wooden long tail boat and enjoy the magnificent coast line with lime stone rock formations.
